Welcome to Treetops and Flipflops! From finding something to climb on every adventure, to 100 feet below the sea level, we are just two crazy people traveling the world! The highs, the lows, the things we would recommend, and the things we wouldn’t!
Home is Rochester, New York and Minot, Maine
We moved from Maine to New York in 2015 for Frank’s job. Emily, however, owns her own business in Maine and travels back and forth between Maine and New York. You’ll likely see our adventures around the world paired with our adventures right here at home in New York and Maine.
Things we like to do together:
Eat! Maybe we are snobby, maybe we are just lazy, but we love to go out for great food!
Dive! Frank has been PADI certified since college, but Emily only got on board in 2014. I have no idea what took me so long! It’s literally our favorite “hobby”. So far we have been diving in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Belize, a quarry outside Rochester New York and a wreck in the St Lawrence River.
Climb! So one of Emily’s friends in college started this obsession with climbing something on every trip. Emily took that to heart and now we both love this adventure. We climbed down a waterfall in Costa Rica, Up a temple in Guatemala, Up the Duomo in Florence and many many more. Next adventure is to climb the Segrada Familia in Spain April 2017.
Hockey! We love hockey. We love living in Rochester and getting to see the Amerks play. Emily played field hockey in high school and grew up watching several friends play ice hockey. While Frank grew up in Maine where hockey really is “the sport”.
